there is a guy in richmond with a 260 that is running 111.8 on rador/113.5 was on his gps.he has a 540 with a 10-71 and a solid cam,his name is Mathew.
they have a rador run every year and boats from va.md.nc.sc.come and try there luck.this year tims rivershore on the potomac river had a rador run with money for all class winners, next year they will have insurance, sponsors and by the sound and excitment of the fans there should be 50-60 boats.

1 Hyper 1 someone told me you had a fast Velocity, what are you running? Also a few years back (like 5-6) I ran into a guy at the Ocean City, MD race that had a cut down 41, I beleive with twin 1000 or 1100s in it. The boat had not scoops the blowers were sticking out of the sun pad and he was still dialing in at 106mph, anyone know who this was? He was from the Annapolis or Baltimore area.
Is it just me or is everyone else tired of hearing about Fountain and Outerlimits?? THere has to be someone out there with some sick power in a Velocity that really moves? You never see any with big power for sale unless they are the old 30s? It seems that Steve is happy with his boats hitting 100mph with mild power. He made that mark close to 25 years ago, it is time for another record (in a big boat). If I ever come into REAL money, I have already decided who would be in the top 5 phone calls and the Velocity factory is up there.
We need a Epoxy, Kevlar, Carbon FIber 39 with a full canopy and a set of 1500 Sterlings! THen we will see what they say about stepped hulls!

the boat that you are talking about was a 1999 or 2000 390 with troy dennis 1000's & #3 ssm drives, the motors had to be installed high in the boat to get the drive hight right (the #3's are about 8" longer than #5's ) and that made the c.g. very high the boat did not handle all that great because of that. the owner already the#3's so that is what he had steve build the boat with, steve would have liked to use #5's so the boat would have handled much better.
the person who owned the boat was Ray Rye, he had the boat for only about a year. im not sure were the boat went, i have not seen it since.
