Re: Fastest Velocity?
I forwarded an email to Clay and Steve at the factory earlier this week from a friend. On ebay they had Steve's original 30 that broke the 100mph V-hull barrier, for sale.
The boat had the sticker on the side that said it was the first to pass the 100mph in a V-hull
That would be a good conversation piece. It has its place in history

Re: Fastest Velocity?
That sticker was on all of the early Velocitys(Velocity 100), my 1985 22 had the same sticker, but it was in better shape! If someone is looking for a 30, there is a guy in North Jersey with one that has 330s and TRS drives. I called him last summer and he got it for a debt that was owed to him a few years ago and really doesn't know much about it. It too was on Ebay and no one bid on it. Starting bid was $10,500, could be a deal or a wreck, I am planning on going to see it, in a month or two.
Pwrtbt33 that boat was for sale on here over the summer for $26,500, sounded way tooo cheap, so I didn't even call about it. It was in PA somewhere.

Re: Fastest Velocity?
About 3 years ago I spoke with a guy in New York That had 2 2.5 ,260hp merc outboards on a 22 Velocity, his boat ran 118 mph. The boat was in Hot Boat magazine under readers rides. He literally rebuilt all of the transom area and rear stringers with aircraft quality aluminum and stainless steel. The fastest I have run in my 22 was 86 mph, I can't imagine what it would be like doing 118 mph.Frank

Re: Fastest Velocity?
Ther was a 22 in the trader a couple of years ago that a 1300hp engine in it and said that it ran 123mph don't know how much truth there was to it. Saw pics of the boat and it had a massive blower motor in it. 90 Velocity do you have a 22?

Re: Fastest Velocity?
I have a 1990 23 with a supercharged 502 has run 97 on radar, hope to break 100 this year. I also need to know where I can get a new cockpit cover and full cover? mine seem to shrunk and I can no longer get it to streach and snap on.
