Default Transom Pick up ?

I am putting together a parts list so I can add a fresh water pump & strainer for cooling. I was wondering if anyone can give me any advise on a transom pick up.

I'm with Too Old on this. I run the same one on my rig. It flows very very well.

I like a pickup that has an adjustable cutting edge. That way you can dial in the exact amount of water pressure that you need. If you have too much pressure, you can raise the edge so you can have less drag. If you are picking up airerated water, you can drop it in deeper. With Freds design, you are fixed. You need to install it too deep to make sure the pickup will work. How about it Fred? Interested in producing a pickup with a adjustable cutting edge? It's not hard to do. A second tube installed inside of the outter one with a lock nut on the inside and a allen screw to tighten it. A sharpened cutting edge to scrape off the water will reduce the resistance. Currently I have mine set to 3/32" below the hull.
