I have lost my key for my wheel locks on my trailer (dumb huh?) and was wondering if there is a trick way to remove without damaging my aluminum wheels. I have tried vice grips and they just slip off as the lock is tapered out. It is harden steel and I believe it is made by Mcguard.
Thanks

A Call McGard, they sent me a key overnight if you have the lock number.
B Weld a new nut to the McGard nut.
C Drill two holes for pins for a spanner wrench. You'll need a few carbide bits.
I know you tried vise grips but how about using a die grinder to make some flats on the nut?
Good luck!

Any good tire store or repair shop will have a set of wheel lock removal tools. They might charge you a couple bucks to remove your locks. That is one way to get them off without damaging your wheels. Or, if you want , you can buy the tools. About $100. PM me if you are interested and I can help you get them.
Good luck. Doug

The socket works too if you get lucky and get one to fit the lock right.. McGard's are always a strange size.. We use this all the time to remove locks...... The teeth bite in as it turns where a socket wont...
