mechanical water pressure & intake manifold pressure/ boost gage
#1
I am updating the dash and changing out the gages in my boat.
I will be running Mechanical gages for my water pressure and intake manifold vacuum/boost.
What is everyone using for hose/tubing to plumb these gages?
Obviously, the cheap 1/8" nylon tubing is out of the question.
But braided hose seems to be overkill for these situations.
What works well?
What doesn't work well?
Thanks,
Dan

You could get poly tubing used in air systems, It's 1/8 tubing you can get it in many different colors. It's flexible like rubber and won't kink. The fittings are quick release and are nickel plated brass. Very cool setup. You can get it in lengths of 100 plus foot, also very cheap.

Zanie,
I would use the plastic for the vacuum/boost. Anything else is overkill I think. Just cover it with that corrugated covering. As far as the water goes, I'm not sure what to suggest. I get all my fancy hose/fittings from a place called Geib industries. They are right by Ohare. They have all Aeroquip fittings etc. for way cheap compared to summit etc. They don't always have it in red/blue etc, so I got all nickel plated stuff and it is holding up fine.
I think this is the number 847-455-4550
They are open til noon on saturdays

Dave,
That is so weird, my buddy just told me yesterday about Geib!
I think a visit is in my future!
Thanks for all the replies!
