Replacing to new Clarion everything!!
#1
Well I finally found out that we aren't getting hit as hard as I thought on Taxes this year, so I've got the go ahead on the stereo!!!
I decided to replace the old Clarion Stereo, Amp, CD Changer with newer versions of Clarion. I'm hoping that I can use alot of the same wiring!?!? I'm also replacing the VCR with a Dvd/Vcr combo and the old tube style TV to a LCD Flat Screen.
Where is the BEST/Cheapest place to buy Clarion Stereo equipment?? I want the CMD4 Stereo, two CMRC1 remotes, the 6 disk changer, I think the smaller 160w amp.
Anyone have anything good or bad to say about Clarion???

I really like Clarion.
They have served me very well, look good and they make a good product for the marine environment.
No problem at all with the head unit, remotes and CD changer. But I would probably buy a different brand speaker.
That is the way it is suppose to be.
You keep your money, you spend it, the economy keeps growning and everyone is happy!
Good Luck.

I'm a Clarion fan also. The CMD series of head units are great.
As far as the TV/DVD goes you might want to check into RCA's LCD TV that has the DVD built in. That is what I put into the 33.

Have you ran your boat with the TV installed yet? I am asking because I would like to install one in my boat, but I am worried that a couple of big slams might break it off the wall.

I have had a Sharp 15 Inch flatscreen in by 36 for three seasons now and it does NOT move and still works great!
I mounted mine in the same place that jeff did. You must use a good quality bracket and put a strong backing plate on it for strength.
They are the only way to go!
As a matter of fact we were in Jeff's both heading out the inlet to Charleston last Saturday and his did great also! Some pretty good size rollers coming in!

Questions to those with LCD TV's.......
Do the ones you have run off of 12 volt??
If so where did you get them??
The ones marketed to into cars are twice as much as the ones marketed to use in your home..........
A buddy said that he just bought a 13in. Sharp and said it is made for home use but was 12 volt that came with and adpator to change the ac to dc????? I'm confused??
BTW, how much power do the LCD's take???

They work off 110 AC and 12 Volt DC. We have ours set up for 12 volt so we can use it away from shore power.
It does not draw a whole lot of power. At least I have never run the battery dead anyway!
They are hard to beat.
