Question powdercoating on underside of intake

I masked off all machined surfaces and sealed carb opening along with intake ports. The powdercoater indicated the tape would be "gummy" due to the 500 F.temps reached at curing.Question is; will the powdercoating on the underside of the intake manifolds handle the hot oil. This could be a real mess especially considering all the work I did to install piston/ pin oilers.Obviously this was my first trip down the powdercoat trail. Has anyone had powdercoating on the bottom of the intake?Engines are together ready to dyno!

My powdercoater will not do anything on the inside. He says it "might" flake off and he doesn't want to be responsible for an engine failure.

I have had a ton of stuff powdercoated and I've never seen a 500 degree cure. Almost always at 350. I asked the guy who does my stuff and he said there might be some custom coatings that cure at that temp but the garden variety stuff cures at 350.

Why would you want to do the bottoms? I have mine coated with a heat barrier.

Cool Re: powdercoating on underside of intake

I did not know the underside was being done! So now it raised the question, you know one of those things that aggravates you in the middle of the night. Like do you have all the right fittings, hose , wire and connectors to finish the installation!

Cure temp is 350 to 400 depending on powder. The tape issue is because of the take you used he should have some of this tape to tape it off for you http://www.finishinglinesupply.com/m..._Code=1-002000

He has a good point. I taped off the under side on the intake I did for someone last week.
