Re: 30' Skater with arnisons

I know the boat. and at the first poker run it ran in on may 21 the first real test for the boat and it broke. He broke a water pickup from what I heard, but it was real fast I talked to the owner and he said it would do around 150.

probably anytime you can put up the money. I know the dealer in Disco. Bay. Bottom line is if you got the money Skater will build it.

I have heard that the 32 with #6's is a little on the heavy side for that boat.. I dont want to run bravo's with power..
so for now its a toss up on the smaller boat with the lighter drives or bigger boat with heavy drives on it..
I would love the 36 .. but storage and local boating ends up being an issue.
any coments or experience would be appreciated.
thanks

the 32 they had at the miami show rocked with 850's and sixes... it had the eight inch wider tunnel and tunnel extension...

Any updated photos of the new 30'???? Possibly maybe some others that are being built or are built. Would really be interested to see how one runs with a set of Mercury Outboards on the back.

it doesn't look like the 30 was designed to have O/B's on it... but i would take one w/ 850's and arnesons... :D :drink:

I would take one with small blocks, like nascar stuff that revs up to 9k, how cool would that sound.

Who needs the extra 1,000 lbs from the big blocks.

Sean, I see you're from LOTO? I was thinking about going to the shootout this year (my boat is on it's way back to MI for the summer)....I was reading on another thread that you have to float in line most of the day?? Is that true?? :(
From all the pics I've seen, it looks crowded...

you do have to wait in line to make your pass, but it isn't all that bad...

it's no more crowded than that pic you posted.. :drink:

here is a pic from the poker run last week.... nice and wide open (43 nor-tech and 46 skater with some runabout trying not to get creamed...)

Re: 30' Skater with arnisons

Too bad I missed that poker run....is there another at LOTO this year?

Is the shootout worth the wait in line? It looks like a fun party, but maybe a hairy ride....I've seen the pics of a few boats wiping out...
Obviously, I have no chance at the top gun...but I was told I'd probably win my class....whatever that is? I can't find a break down of classes...
I guess it depends on what else is happening that weekend..

I think we're doing the Smoke on the water and the WMPA dash for cash....other than those..undecided (I can't wait!!)

Dank368-

So thats your boat in the new Powerboat mag? All I gota say is that is like my dream boat of all time. What is the real top speed on that thing because I know 134 is not the top.

Don't know yet...I hit 157 at the Havasu poker run with 6 people, stock props, and I had throttle left....
It's on it's way to MI come tuesday...and Keith Holmes is going to help me dial it in and hit a top speed.....so, in a month or two I'll know better... :evilb: :D :D

Damn man that is sweet. What can I do for a ride man I'll do anything, ha ha. Your boat is flat out just redicolous, I cant find words that discribe it. The mag said it was $534,000 to me that seems a lot lower than what I would have guessed and by what I ve seen some like it cost.

Thanks! :drink: :D
The price was quite a bit higher than that, but that's ok, I'd like to keep my friends thinking it was that low :D
If you're going to be at the Smoke on the Water run, I'll give you a ride, no problem. I'm 95% sure it will be ready. Baker is making some new lower pulley support brackets for it.

you would be in a class with some heavy hitters.... mid 160's to 170 probably.... derebery has his new 368 i think, he ran his 32 last year mid 160's..... remeber its a standing start mile run, bring your acceleration props.... :D

Man I appreciate the offer. And if could get out to that I would definately go for a ride, Its just to bad I live in Sacramento. But we do have our own shootout out here like the Smoke on the Water, but it just isnt as big. My buddy is finishing up his 36 skater and he is putting 1500s in his. Good luck at the run though.

Oh did I mention your boat is so awsome its stupid.

Dank368-

I'll second that you're boat is awesome! I watched Keith and Bruce splash it for the first time and test run it on Muskegon Lake. Those Bakers sound and run great. Do you know where and when you'll be running in Michigan to dial it in? I'd love to watch you guys run it. I'll look for you and your 368 at SOTW.

Thanks Jeff!!
SOTW will be the first time I run it back there. I'm thinking about the Chicago Poker Run July 22+23 and the WMPA Dash for Cash August 12-13th. Untill I talk to Keith not sure when we're going to do the full speed run. Fountain has a kilo run Aug 5th + 6th maybe there?? Come say hi at SOTW, I'll know better then.

Depends on whats worth it to you. It does take forever. You will wait at least 2 hours at the starting line for your run. It's tons of fun to hang out around Shooters and checkout the other boats, or tie up on the water and watch the others run. If you can get your boat there easily I say bring it. Make the call when you get there on doing the actual Shootout.

SWEET boat.
