Bern Any idea of the weight of your boat? My 30 motion weighted 5075lbs all up with fuel running out the vents [105 GAL} i FIGURE ABOUT 4300-4400LBS WITHOUT FUEL

according to Spectre...a 30 outboard rigged is 4800 dry...i carry 140 gals. a 28 skater vs a 30 spectre is like a 30 spectre vs a 32 skater. a 32 skater w/OB's will be 8-12 mph slower then me in optimum conditions. but when the water kicks up the 32 will walk away from me. BIGGER IS BETTER WHEN THE WATER GETS BIGGER

jarrod, i believe in your boat.... put randy or JT on the sticks, it would be a killer... (not that you suck or anything... )

i have seen plenty of 28 skaters and 30 spectres run, i would put my money on the 28 everytime in up to 2-3's... after that, its whoever the stupider would win.... the skaters bottoms works just a little better and its much lighter...

Bern You can't really trust the factory numbers. You have to use a scale. My boat is kevlar and foam, the 4 seats are 18lbs each, small batteries, I cut weight every place I could . so maybe I am 4100lbs and the boat does run over 110mph + in fresh water with 300 pro max's. I wonder what a 28 skate weights?

As in 3500lbs? If my ever fading memory is correct The min. race weight for a 28' is 3800lbs a 30' hull needs to weigh in at 4200lb and a 32' is 4400lbs.
To me that makes those Doug Wright 32' very impressive as Ryan B. and crew ran over 116mph in Tenn last weekend
