and i guess i better call randy and tell them to stop racing in UIM because that isn't offshore.... and stop winning supercat, and stop building new supercat lites next year to dominate that class and to stop building the worlds fastest prop driven boat and new extreme class boats to dominate another class as well..... :drink:

i would say if you are gonna tell a story, at least get it right, yes randy and reggied tried to be partners for about 6 months and it didn't work out... he didn't start building boats there...

and how many times was the reliable skater upside down? both skaters and MTI's went over this year does that mean neither is a offshore boat? here is a nice skater for ya... 45 MPH on a lake and it went over....

and whats your point? like most people who argue this, you have nothing to back it up, i asked for specs or details and you give the bacardi boat (which has now switched to MTI) and a 32 that runs 170 (i have seen that before, derebery did it too).... if so fast why doesn't skater own the supercat or supercat lite kilo record? skater does own the 200 record, for now, it will be short lived and competely surpassed this year...

i have never said skater didn't build good boats, but they have been surpassed in the past couple years, and quite markedly.. you can go on and live in the past with 1998 boats and such, but todays boats, its not even a contest... :D

True, but the person you were referring to raced in superboat unlimited which had no MTI's in it. extreme class should be awesome the next few years.

Yeah, nor-tech's gonna be dominating Superboat Unlimited next year. And ill be there watching with Keira Knightly. (sarcasm).
You metnioned that the 200mph skater is being replaced with an MTI. Whats that boat being used for though? I thought it was going to be used for high speed runs like at loto shootout and at kilos, so i guess you coudl call it a KiloKat (i crack myself up sometimes). but i dont think that boat is going to be raced OFFSHORE in OSS or APBA. Also, most of the other classes you mentioned were spec classes, not unlimited. IN that case you need a smaller boat to get max speed out of the limited power or to fit into the class spec. BUt in UNLIMITED there were no MTI becasue the racers could get the biggest OFFSHORE boat and jam in as much power needed to make it go.
Ill also repeat trick and say that im not knocking MTI in any way id love to have one if i coudl afford it.

If i was there i am sure it would have ran slower :D . But it still ran over 200 MPH. You know the only reason we have not seen a 200 mph MTI is because someone has not built one yet. Your right it will come soon. I only pray someone does not get hurt.

I have my eye on few Skaters right now. Not sure if i will sell the 24 though. I might just keep it and buy a project boat.

MTI had an excellent year in racing which is exciting because now Skater isn't the only game in town. I am anxious to see what the next few years will bring from both brands. It's difficult to build a competitive raceboat that appeals to customers and both have done so with great success.

I still can't find a better looking boat than a cutdown 46 Skater. Nothing says "I'm not f-cking around" like that does. :D

oh yeah, and randy looked at a 40 skater 15 years ago, copied that and now is beating peter with it, so what does that say about peter? (if you believe that i have some land for you in florida too... )

That would be funny if it weren't such at ignorant statement. I try to not get to involved with these threads, BUT, with statements like that i must. I can certainly give you plenty of differences in the hulls. And if you were to ever ride in BOTH, you would know they're completely different animals.

I didnt think that new boat was an MTI, but he did mention a few so maybe there some more suprises.

I'll just add that i dont think either MTI or Skater will be dominating OSS extreme or Superboat unlimited inthe next few years. Cant wait to see them battle in superboat limited or SCL.

apache21 01-23-2006 07:09 PM

Re: Voting in mill!

Let's hear some differences between MTI's and the Skaters. Everyone has the brand Loyalty. I perfer Skater because they make a smaller boat that fits my boating and budget, but I have seen MTI's (Gary) Super cat rigging and I like it better than Skaters rigging I have seen. I think this a area were Skater needs to improve in. Just my 2 cents. When you are looking at $600,000 + machines at the docks brand name means nothing. Your Eyes will always tell the truth :D
