New 30 Testing In Florida
Was Out In Florida Testing The New 30 With 300xs Outbourds. Unbilevable Boat So Impressed Had To Buy One. This One Had The Standard Deck. The Handls Like A Bigger Boat Night And Day Differance From My 28. The New Motors Run Nice The Fuel Milage Is Unreal. A Plus With Gas Going Up Ocean Outbord In Long Island Has Them For Sale Nice Boat Jim

Re: New 30 Testing In Florida
How did you like the new motors ? Didnt you have 2.5's on your skater ? Give us a comparison.
|
Re: New 30 Testing In Florida
No I Have The 300x Not As Stout As Mine But Then Again Its A Bigger Boat. But The Perfomance Trade Off For Fuel Milage I Think Is Going To Be Well Worth It. They Took The Boat Out With A Half Of Tank Of Fuel. Johny T Did 4 High Speed Runs Then He Did Eceleration Test.
Then Bob Teage Did The Same Thing. Then We Took The Boat Out For A Wide Open Blast 2 Way Pass And Burned A 1/4 Tank In All That Testing .just Unreal Please Excuse The Speeling Have Not Figured Out Spell Check Will Do That Soon |
Re: New 30 Testing In Florida
Is this boat the one that Ocean Outboard has rigged?????
|
Re: New 30 Testing In Florida

Re: New 30 Testing In Florida
You bought one ? What power are you putting on it ?
Any word on the 400hp verado ? When did they tell you it would be available ? Curtis |
Re: New 30 Testing In Florida
Great news on the performance, handling and fuel economy. Would not expect anything less from Skater. Can not wait until mine comes, (T/Merc 300 XS), getting close now. Going to MI to check on rigging in next 2 weeks.

dang that new 30 is one fine mo-fo (some old motown lingo) as im originally from Ann Arbor Mich, i sure wish i could justify that cost, they quoted me $130,000 for a blank, i dont know if they just wanted to get rid of me as i didnt need their rigging..so im buying this 28 and im putting the 300XS'S on it .
i need to sell my ocean express before i can order the motors (the mama put her foot down) but have to drive from florida to PA to get it. if anyone knows someone looking for a nice 33 ft ocean express with new drives and 540's merlins let me know. scott |
Re: New 30 Testing In Florida
Does anyone know the weight of the tested boat
|
Re: New 30 Testing In Florida
According to Powerboat magazine, Jan 2007, page 80, the 30 Skater that was tested, was listed with a hull weight of 3,000 lbs.
|
Re: New 30 Testing In Florida
You Can Figure On Around 4300lbs Average On The 30
|
Re: New 30 Testing In Florida
Jim,
Thats about what we figured for the total 3000 hull 1000+ T/300xs 350 addl rigging ------- 4350 or so, dry I am waiting for a confirmation from Skater, but am presently planing on being at Skater Tue Jan 16. Frank |

Re: New 30 Testing In Florida
I Don't Know What A 30 Weighs But A New Painted 28 Weighed 2300 Lb. With Only Hull And Interior And Cockpit Cover Installed.
