Great looking boat. My partner and I have done a ton of experimenting with props on his 28 and my 32 with 2000 Pro Max's,not X motors, that have similar torque curves. These motors love to grunt and we have found that 15 x 35 set up as tight as possible, low slip, have given us the best results. I have a set of 15 3/4 x 35 on my 32 [triples] that work even better. Brett Anderson can set them up. The torque from the XS's should love big props and get you up into the 115 mph range. Good luck!

115!!!??? Whoa, that would be great, but most 28' Skaters struggle to see 115mph. My 30' is obviously heavier and larger, plus I keep my boat loaded down with equipment for a day of boating with the family. I do agree with the XS's like the bigger props though, and better fuel economy. I'm averaging 2.4mpg at 4500 rpm at 78mph with 34 4 blade Bravo's.

Default Props , gearcase height & water PSI

If you guys are running fleetmasters with duel pickups plug the top 3 or 4 holes with 3/8 Stainless steel allen head screw plugs you will need to run a tap in the first & use locktite. I would suspect it is sucking air & near WOT. I did a similar setup with 300X's on an 28' Oddessy pontoon boat that we set the record with @ 91MPH. The thing handled & had all the charcteristics of a CAT. Something else you may want to consider is installing pickups in the hull. Problem solved for sure. Turn the props in for sure for maximum lift. Handling will suffer slightly but you WILL see a gain if Topend is what you are after. Aren't we all!!!! Those 300XS's have one hell of a torque curve. THEY WILL pull some big wheels they like large Dia. props like the Bravos & the Hydromotive's once the have been worked. Just remember they don't RPM up as quickly YOU HAVE TO GIVE them time to spool up. Playing with the trim up/down up/down up/down on long straight WOT runs to squeeze out every last RPM.
Have fun keep'r right side up.

Nothing too exciting. My best top speed is 102mph. I still haven't had a chance to run some 15 x 32 4 blade cleavers though. There's a guy in Georgia with a 30 and 300X 's and he's seen 108-110, which sounds right compared to the years of results shown between 300X and 300XS on 28's. I don't know if I'll ever get over 105 though, with XS's.

We need 400HP outboards!!!!
