Default Just Bought 88 32 Skater

I Just Bought 32 Skater From Canada This Past Weekend . It Is A Race/pleasure Outboard Boat , No Engines , Just What I Have Been Looking For . I Do Auto Restoration Work For A Living , So The Boat Will Be Painted Very Soon . I Have A Question , The Boat Has The Very Tall Stringers In Rear Cockpit , I Want To Trim These Down To Around 2 Inches High In Center Of Floor And Around Tank Cut Down To Within 1 Inch Of Tank . Has Anyone Ever Done This ?? Also Has Anyone Ever Made A Fiberglass Motor Well To Finish Off The Rear Of Boat ?? I Can't Believe That Skater Would Let A Boat Go Out The Door With That Unfinished Motor Well Area .

I would not cut into any of the stringers.

If you must then I would Consult with Peter at Skater.
Remember do not leave any sharp edges. Cuts should be
round with large radius.

Good Luck with ur Skater.

Lets see some Pictures!

I had a 87 32 ob #3204 the back near the engines was not finished ether, i would check that transom for mosture and rot.
All those boats at that time were old race boats. Mine started out as risky busniess as well as a couple other names along the way. let see some pictures..

No rot , that was the first thing I looked at , very solid . According to Peter , this boat was built for somebody in NJ who used to race with Billy Frienz .
