That boat is beautiful, talk about that boat this weekend to a friend that is looking for a 40, if i was looking that would be the 1:drink:

Pro1 06-23-2008 12:58 PM

All three boats Blee, AJ and that boat are all real nice.

Thanks!!!! I am excited......

Chicago will most likely be the first run ------ Then Destin, LOTO and Sarasota, with the KW deal ending the year. The guy who bought my 07' 39 Cigarette (Offshore Cowboy) lives in NJ. I won't post his name as I haven't seen him on this board (I don't think????). He boats with a guy in a big Sterling powered 40 Skater, but I don't remember his name.

I saw yours last year on the side of the road, at a restaurant I believe, and then in the water... not sure which run --- maybe it was Destin.... but, anyway, yours looks very nice too (and sounds grrrreat!).

thanks, bro! i'm full for destin, but am sure i can get you on one of a couple ciggie's that are also coming from Htown... and needless to say, plenty of time/room to run it out the cut several times on Friday. Let me know if you're coming.

i replied to your text..... send me your address. i have them sitting here boxed and ready to go. ps: hurry up ---- a friend has tres's old race boat, w/ a similar pkg to yours. he also wants to try them before destin. i told him i've already committed to my yankee friend, and that if they didn't work for you, i'd get them right back for him to try. here's a pic to motivate you!!!

Hey Julie ---

You and Matt are the best.... I still can't believe you guys got my Ciggie running 6 MPH faster than anyone else's (comp. equipped), and I out accellerated the 700 boats from 60-90 MPH before the began to pull on me. Needless to say... Tim was amazed ---- considering he was driving the 700 boat!!!! :evilb::evilb:

That's nice of you to say man, and I can't wait to see it! Yeah, the Cig was gonna need tail numbers if it spent anymore time airborne. I loved those boats, but don't miss a vee at all. :party-smiley-004::drink:

Hey, educate me..whats the difference between a cut down version and the 368. Thanks Jeff

all 368's are cut down's. the "older style" skater is called the "classic" deck, meaning it is a taller deck, similar to what's on most vhulls.

cut down just means the deck is "cut down" lower towards, and sometimes below, the rubrail, giving a sleeker, lighter look.

my boat is a cut down 36, which is the identical hull to one JT drove to break the world speed record in the 36 rudder boat, bacardi silver, a few years back. the 368 is the same boat, but the tunnel has been stretched 8 additional inches, giving it better accelleration. it was first conceived for the 525 boats, helping them to accellerate quicker, and now, skater has found that is also works very well across the engine power spectrum... same thing with chris j's 410 skater. it is not a "41", but rather a 40 that has been stretched 10 inches ---- another "custom" boat, similar to the smaller 368's.

hope that helps....

see ya in destin!!!!!

Joe great looking boat,

whats the difference between a 368 and a 388? Would the 388 be a lot faster hull? Thanks:drink:

Uh..... approximately 2 feet I believe!!!!

haha... sorry, just couldn't pass that up.

the real answer: they are both stretched the 8" (10' 8" vs the std. 10"). one is 36' and the other is 38', not counting transom stretches, like the MTI's do. skater does not consider ferrings in the LOA --- meaning, if mine was an MTI, it would most likely be called a 39 vs a 36, due to the molded ferring/platform, which some skater's have and other's don't (you can see the ferring of mine in a pic of the transom in a thread i started here in the general section, when i was trying to come up w/ a name for this boat. the thread is titled, "the new girl needs a name http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...d.php?t=189504).

well skater says its 11' and its the same width as a 388 when parked by each other at the races.

Skater also says on their web site that its only 35'6". so is it that or is it really 36. The 368 that is.

it is just short of 36, that is why when they added the 2 foot that all the problems arised with jd byrider, it wasn't 38' and therefore not legal for supercat at the time (they have since changed the length to allow in the 37'9" 388's)

dbhammer 07-17-2008 11:47 AM

thats some boat. wish the cockpits in skaters were a little larger. the lines and performance are incredible. was it an option to get a full windshield rather than the 1/4 canopies?

You can have whatever size cockpit you want, along with either 1/4 canopies or full shield.
