activatorf1 can i ask a question, you said you used cdx plywood for your transom, was this just the normal old 15 dollar a sheet plywood that you can get at any lumbar yard which is usually pine or was it another type of wood? i am not sure if you saw my post of wood or not. it would be a great help!

I used 4 ply 1/2 cdx , bonded three of them together to add to my existing Transom . If you use 3/4 , make sure you get 5 ply
|
I think my Transom might even be strong enough to hang two of those pile of crap , heavier than Oprah Verado if I wanted to throw my money away
|
so was it made with pine? the cdx i have found locally is made from pine and someone said the resin might have issues bonding to pine because of the oils in the wood? i appreciate the help!

Have only used cdx for the last 25 years including in my own shop and where we I used to work building boats . I will tell you this , had many people who wanted to save money by doing their own wood work and have me glass say a floor or what ever , I tell to start over because they used Pressure treated and for sure nothing will stick to that . Your on your own

I noticed that your boat at one time had a race trim system..Do you have the stainless steel trim cylinders? I am looking for some spares. Many thanks, Barney Welch 1 405 203 3191

When I bought it is was missing the trim rams , it only had the stainless pockets cut into transom , according to Peter only a few boats were rigged that way
