JIMKID Motorsports 11-21-2008 10:09 AM

Jim,

WOW!, Thats great power.

We had a great time this weekend, missed you guys.

The past weekend, we participated in the third annual Ft. Myers Offshore (FMO) Thanksgiving weekend run.

Our destination was South Seas Plantation.

For us it was a round trip of 100 miles, by boat. The weather was perfect, the seas were a bit bumpy, and SSP is an amazing place.

This was my wife Nancy’s, first ride in this Skater. I dropped her off at SSP before the event started.

Thank you Bob Barnhart and the entire FMO board/team for a great event.

I have posted the 70 pictures we took at

http://www.kodakgallery.com/ViewSlid....1228064342293

Here is Nancy, just before the ride back.

Hay frank glad you had fun i was real happy with the motor actually overwhellmed i tolded the efi guy he can stop tuning now thats enough glad all went whell will be down on the 10th

yahoo 11-30-2008 02:56 PM

how does the xpower compare in price ? Its a neat looking drive. you are really testing alot of new hardware, good luck.

JIMKID Motorsports 11-30-2008 03:59 PM

its a little pricey but there claming it will hold up to 1400 hp its over kill for my application but i want it bullet prove they have a stainless stell gimball ring for the housing also which is the weak link in the bravo but they use a number 6 prop shaft on the drive which is nice you get to run real props

Thats is insane power.

My SBC race motors were 374cid, 14:1 cr, race fuel, modified ported singe 4 barrel carb, ported & polished intake and heads, CMI dry exhaust, and I made 680hp at 7800 or something like that, its been a while.

This efi stuff really works well.

Call me when you get to FL.

yahoo 11-30-2008 05:32 PM

You can make just as much power with carb as you can with efi. The cid on the ls7 is 427 quite a bit more. the compression is 11:1 and its dry sumped.

the big diff is controlling things like detonation etc with the efi.

WOW 427 thats huge compared to mine. On paper, that puts mine at 776 based on cid increase. I was also not dry-sumped, which does help alot.

Still, very impressive.

Thanks for the cid info.
