40 Super Sport or 40 Low profile?

What are the pros and cons of each? What are your thoughts? Half lake use and half ocean. The SS is larger with a deeper tunnel so obviously better in the ocean. What else?

(low profile is red and SS is green)

Low profile ss.Wait till you see my new one in two weeks.Bruce will shoot you some pics.

I'm pretty sure the "Low Profile" aspect can be applied to any of their boats since it's a deck mod. I'd go with the SS tunnel, cut down.

Get the tunnel extention, 4 seats, etc. You know Dan, deck it out with all of the options like you did with your 368. :drink:

Which model is better suited for 140 mph+ operation in the Ocean? How much top-end do you lose, if any, with the SS version over the cut-down version with the same power, ie. 1075's?

Dan are you gettin a new 40??

dkwestern 02-23-2009 02:35 PM

are they different molds? just deeper tunnel?

I read there are no deck molds, how do they lay up the decks with no mold?

Rik 02-23-2009 03:02 PM

There are no deck molds for...

30' Inboard

368

388

399

40 SS... Not the same mold as the original 40 Classic as there is a different tunnel and sponson width.

Any of the models can be a flat deck though if the owner chooses.

How do they do it? They sculp a deck to the bottom, adding any cockpit and windscreen confifuration that you wish using a flat balsa panel.
