thanks guys
It is great finally getting the Skater out there. After all, its been almost a 5 year project after buying it back in late summer of 2008.
I will never forget the feeling when I pushed the throttles forward for the first time and it popped up on plane. The sound of those 4 outboards howling in unison, accelerating hard, and the smile on my wife's face as we took off down the lake for the first time together in the Skater. Those are the moments that make it all worthwhile.

thanks guys, Going by in the video probably close to 95, and I didn't know that the rev limiter was released yet. We kept going and it was an awesome sight to look down and see the needles on all four tachs leaning way over towards 8000 range. we ended up with what you see on the speedo recall.
I'm ready to start dialing in now, the props I have on now are a just what I threw on to get her on the water. The 2 center ones are thick bladed15X34 stock merc cleavers off the shelf and need blueprinted
The outside motors are spinning 15X32 stock cleavers. Your help would be appreciated

It looks like you have the rotations arranged with each pair rotating out, have you tried it with each pair rotating in? Are you running all 1.87 ratio cases? I found that taller 1.62 gears not extreme prop pitches was the answer for both acceleration and top speed. I could never get any of the 32" plus pitch cleavers based on the low rake Mercury castings to run like the calculations indicated they should have. I do have some Mazco mid rake 33" cleavers that run great especially with 1.75 ratio. I know of a triple engine Spectre that runs best with 1.75 ratio cases on the outer motors and 1.62 on the center. There was a guy on one of these sites that had a couple of almost new sportmaster housings that ended up with cracked skegs from being thinned too aggressively. Those cases with the skegs ground off completely could be just the ticket to reduce drag and prop slip on your center motors. I also doubt you need full 15" diameter wheels with four of them in the water. Lots of permutations to consider to maximize the matrix with as many variables as your quad represents.
With the current setup I'm experiencing over 15% slip which I'm hopeful that with the right props I can get that down and top end mph up.
I'm having to face the fact that the merc cleavers with the 18 degree rake might not be the best for this application. I've got Dewald working on a set of 4 blades to try on the center motors first.
That might not be a bad idea with the skegless center motors. A little nervous though about lack of extra insurance in case I would for some reason break one of the outside skegs.and lose steering control.
The beauty of all of this is, there is so much that I can do with experimentation on props, prop rotation, engine height and weight distribution. It's just going to take some time. I appreciate any tips or advice you guys want to send my way

Runninragged would you mind posting some pictures of that Cris cat quad set up. They're so rare, it be great to see how yours was set up. It sounds like my setup with the prop rotation is the same as what you had run. Is it still out there runnin?
