Blumes classified estimates 140 MPH with merc 1100's, this has 1500's, WOW. 155-160 possible?

If this boat is the same bottom as the 45 Cig Maximus, what makes it so much faster? I'm sure the Skater is a bit lighter, but 45 Cig runs 120ish with 1100's and same hull.

This is a 46 Rough Rider bottom. Same bottom as the Cig race boat that skater built. It's got some custom skater touches, but essentially a rough rider bottom.

This boat weighs just a touch over 10000 lbs full of fuel and ready to rock. We weighed it before we rigged it. Just the bare hull with gimbals on it was 5020 lbs. Engines are 1250lbs each

We went 115 this morning not even trying on Lake Charlevoix. 5 guys and 3/4 take of gas.

The best we have done is 131mph at 5200 rpm. that leaves about 1000rpm before redline. It was still climbing without feeding it more power. It's a monster.

All that to say, thats the fastest I'm ever gonna go in it.

Tom

Thanks Tom, That's haulin the mail!!!

I used the CIG 45 maximus because it's the sitdown no cabin version of the 46 RR, more apples to apples of your boat.

Huh, that's interesting. I don't know much about cigarettes, but this bottom runs well over 100, that I know for sure!
