After a year or two an alum traler is going to look like a pile of crap if you dont epoxy prime then paint . I know a guy who brought home a factory fresh unpainted alum traler in the winter and the road salt stainled trailer . We have been painting stell and alum trailer with Epoxy / urethane top coat over Galv or bare alum . Anybody here have a few yr old Alum trailer that has been in salt every weekend ? If so does it look like new alum ?

If you paint it properly it will be fine for your lifetime and when it is Scratched you touch it up or yes it will start to oxidize . Sandblast it with OOO sand ( very fine ) Epoxy prime then paint . A buddy has an Alum C channel Manning painted from factory and it looks great , only way in my opinon to have an alum trailer . That said if you own a sea ray or hydro-cat , leave it bare because the boat is ugly and a matching trailer is a must

they quoted me $6900 all aluminum with stainless hardware tor. axles, elect. over hyd. brakes, drive guard, aluminum diamond plate toolbox off the nose, diamond plate steps on both sides of fenders, a completely diamond plated nose and drive guard, and l.e.d. lights. i thought that was a great price..
