Did you just get new cowls ? If so how much were they and how much heavier are they than the stock plastic cowls ?

Not sure how the windshield deal will turn out. If it cannot look factory I will not do it. I did get new cowlings 300x style to fit on the 300xs pan. They are lighter than the stock ones. Look great. Will post pics this weekend. May get them custom painted but want to test them first.
Dave Bush Racing is the sole distributor for them.

Nice ! Why is top secret what they cost ?

How many of you guys with 28's interested in a Aeromarine windshield? Trying to get a mold done from them. They need a plug from Skater and if there is enough of a demand maybe Pete will give one up. I am in anyone else?

If they could be made to enhance the look, didn't look like an afterthought, and were effective and reasonably priced, I'd be interested.

Here is another 28 that those same morons attached a set of Finney's to the top of the deck. Ironically those very same morons originally built your boat.

Man this thread is getting ridiculous. All I was looking for was guys with a 28's that were interested in maybe putting a deal together for a WINDSHIED. NOT A WINDSCREEN, WIND FLAPS or any other home made device.

Sorry just showing options :drink:

DR... Sorry to muddy up your thread with a salty reply, but my point was that the factory... for the owner of a 28 who wanted protection from the wind... suggested, supplied, and would fit Finney's windflaps. Since that was the factory solution I bought a set, and upon opening the box I wasn't impressed enough to start drilling holes in my boat. Hence my interest in your project...

Speaking of windshields, here are a couple of pictures I saved of a 28 that was in the classifieds of either here or S&F recently. There was also a thread about the boat (no rubrail, triple 280's) that touched on making the windshield. The uprights were cast out of aluminum, I believe, and that alone had to be a huge project. There was a suggestion that he would make more, but then the thread faded away. After seeing it , I don't know if it appeals to my eye.

Peterbilt's post sums it up best for me... And I'll look forward to what you come up with.

Too bad these threads get off topic so quickly.

Maybe the OP should have said something along the lines of:

This thread is for 28 Skater owners only.
Please only post if you are interested in a windshield.
If you don't have a 28, and you only want to post negative comments about windshields, please don't post.
