I would love to see the 482 in person. That has to be a big Cat up close! Is it 12' wide? |
It doesn't get any nicer than these two Skaters...
Simply, a work of art.. unreal.. |

BTW, both sharp looking boats, but that 482 not only doesn't look 8' longer than the 40SS in the video, but it also looks like it was all stretched in the stern... it almost looks disproportionate IMO. |

Looks like we'll have a new Liquid Limo this summer! I'm looking forward to hearing the 1350's.

Scot I dunno if he's going to have it come summer. those 1350 are so quiet they almost sound like a turbine boat. He misses the noise of the antique motors and with the right offer this skater would be gone. The blue one is another friend of mines old boat. He traded in to tommy without power....
|
was that a brand new 46 Skater that was updated?
|
Yeah I knew the 1350's would be quiet in comparison, turbos always dampen the noise considerably.
So he's going to get rid of this new 44 before summer because it doesn't sound as good?!?!?! If so, where does he go from there???:eek: |

No it's a new bottom and a new model. The bottom is shorter than a 46' bottom. All new boat.
Thanks in advance:drink: |

Good talking to ya Blume:drink: Gerry |
Yes that is correct as in HP small lightweight aircraft and the new Boeing Dreamliner
In 1945 this type of material was only a dream , rivets were state of the art back then |
I'm in the aircraft business and specifically structures. I can assure you that nothing we have ever come across had balsa in it. maybe I'm wrong and there is some new stuff out that I haven't seen.

Balsa wood, one of the oldest core materials, is again being used in sandwich structures. Because of its high impact resistance and high compressive properties, End Grain Balsa core panels have exhibited good resistance to heel damage and provide long service life. End Grain Balsa floor panels are still widely used by most airlines and airframe manufacturers. A large stock of balsa wood is available in all densities from General Veneer Manufacturing Co. http://www.emeraldinsight.com/journa...&show=abstract I don't know a thing about it but did a quick search and came up with the above. |

What is the layup schedule using the above? S-Glass, carbon fibre, and balsa core |
