What is the wood used for that has been attached on the top edge?

I'm curous about this as well. Can you in a few short details explain the diff. between SS and SLW, and can the 520, 46 308, Fat Boys ect. be build as SLWs? Back in the day when the SLW was Peters boat, I remember reading something about it being a one-off, but is the SLW build something that all your customers can order now?

I'll do my best to answer this: any size boat can be a SLW. An SLW has foam coring (what some poeple call a race lay-up) instead of balsa coring which males it lighter. Yes the SLW is now available on all models.

Blume,

for SLW hulls and with the hull-bottom fully foam cored, is the boat 100% wood-free? or will other parts of the boat (deck?) still get the balsa core?

Also, how much more are SLW 388's in cost over the non-SLW 388. You don't need to post $$$ amounts here, just a percentage cost over non-SLW would suffice....thanks.
