Planes trains and Range Rovers

What a trip. Kim and Will arrived this morning aboard a chartered Medical Jet. I drove Kim's car over after seeing a few patients this morning. The prayers worked! No driving issues and the State Troopers left me alone and in Alabama even let me thru past an accident scene! I got to see Will for a few minutes. He was finally resting and was in good sprits. He sends his love.

The nursing staff is wonderful and they were already making him feel at home. They had creature comforts such as a call button he can use and a TV he does not have to strain to see. They replaced his neck brace with one that looked much more comfortable. They also had a menu which he can chose his meals and the left over apple cobbler was to die for!

The mother of one of Will's classmates from Rhodes dropped in to welcome Kim with a big hug and a care package of goodies so don't worry I'm going to be able to maintain this great belt line!

Thanks for everything and keep praying for his recovery.

Wow what a place. Shepard's Clinic in Atlanta is amazing. Will was fitted for a chair today and drove it down the hall to the gym like he was in the Skater. I asked the OT about top speed and immediately was given a dirty look and told I was a bad influence! I did notice she had it set for very slow. I'm sure that won't last long! Its going to be a WOT Recovery!
Thanks for the text PMs emails and especially the prayers.

Sam/skate,
i've followed thread lets say from a unique perspective. And wish you folks all the best.
I suffered an sci -c5 quad- when i was 22, i'm now 50.
I had an amazing family and more importantly a group of friends that would drag my a** here there and everywhere regardless of my chair.
I went from being a builder to a designer,to getting a ma in architecture and flying sailplanes and ultralights and.. Yes a few fast and fun boats!!
I guess my point is its a long road ahead with plenty of ups and down, just tell your son to laugh and not be afraid to try anything - even if people tell him it is immpossible (and there will be some who do) try it anyway!!
Laugh, love, and be merry. ....it sounds trite, take it from someone whose been there, it works.
I wish your family all the best.
Mike
