It's a night and day difference between this boat and one with no wind protection. I've done trips with this 28' and a few others that did not have any protection. 100 mph wind get's OLD fast! This is why we made the 28' windshield assembly..

that's the trip 28 that DBR rigged and sold...gotta be a bad azz 28..where did it end up??? my 308 has power wind screens but would like to find a way to have a wrap around...to bad it's not a flat deck LOL. double rigged here on OSO has that windshield from aero if anyone wants one take a look at his and the orange wrap 28 from the havazu area, thats' the only option that I know of for a wrap around.

Rik, What does it cost to get one of those installed. Does it through-bolt on?

Flightplan 01-29-2014 02:40 PM

LA, do you have a pick of a 28 with a wrap around windscreen? Maybe I misunderstood you.

Installation cost? The mounting parts are thru bolted to the deck and then you just attach the panels. Fairly simple and straight forward. Double R can elaborate on the process.

Sorry Rik, I was more interested in the cost of the windshield and how it installed.

You can contact Carmen at Aeromarine. Not sure what they are selling for these days. It depends on configuration of cast pieces. I got mine raw and primed/painted them. You will need some additional braces made to firm it up some. I have a thread on here with a bunch of pics. I love mine. We can cruise all day at 90mph and wear a hat if you want. Definitely a must in my opinion. Would never have another Skater without it.
If you are somewhat handy install not too bad.

double rigged has it...the orange wrapped 28 has one...and the trip DBR 28 too...think Aero sold a couple more but I have not seen or heard where they went. last I knew Carmen had one left from the original run. if I would have been re-rigging my 28 at the time I would have gotten it... She may still have it.

Flightplan, any luck with your search?

I still have mine and it's taking up space... would love to see it go to someone who would re-rig it with 280's or 300xs's and the race hatch :party-smiley-004:
