308 skater
Arneson drives or bravo xr setup for a 308 skater, what would be the best package for running in the great lakes ??
|
I don't think you can beat arneson drives on that boat, there faster and handle bigger power better. Look at what the 30 prototype boat did with arneson drives. I don't know what you plan on using for power but if you use something big I would be much more comfortable with arnesons over bravos.

Arnesons no doubt, plus Rik is awesome, he will help you out every step of the way!!

Thanks guys, I've been looking into it for a month or so was still up in the air with what would work better in the slop I find my self running in my area most days

Merc charges a hefty up charge for their motors if you use a competitive drive system. Enough to afford Smith Power!
|
I agree but for those that want Merc power this is the best scenario.
|
I'm not stuck on merc power I just know they build a good product and service can be done all over, I've run outboards on all my boats so it will be a big change no matter what

Unfortunately and this is a very unfortunately, we cannot get a set of Brad Smith motors any longer. That being said there are other options for engines other than Mercury that can make you happy, or we can find a means to skin a set of Merc motors to make it happen as well.
