Arneson drives or bravo xr setup for a 308 skater, what would be the best package for running in the great lakes ??

I don't think you can beat arneson drives on that boat, there faster and handle bigger power better. Look at what the 30 prototype boat did with arneson drives. I don't know what you plan on using for power but if you use something big I would be much more comfortable with arnesons over bravos.

Thanks guys, I've been looking into it for a month or so was still up in the air with what would work better in the slop I find my self running in my area most days

Wanted to run 600 to 700hp range I'm a merc guy but would look at other stuff too

You can run the Merc 700's if you'd like and couple it to our #7M Kits and you'd have a fast reliable boat and still have the Merc power you desire.

Merc charges a hefty up charge for their motors if you use a competitive drive system. Enough to afford Smith Power!

I agree but for those that want Merc power this is the best scenario.

I'm not stuck on merc power I just know they build a good product and service can be done all over, I've run outboards on all my boats so it will be a big change no matter what

Unfortunately and this is a very unfortunately, we cannot get a set of Brad Smith motors any longer. That being said there are other options for engines other than Mercury that can make you happy, or we can find a means to skin a set of Merc motors to make it happen as well.
