just the vessel view set up leaves a clean high tech dash layout.... I like gauges too so I'm on both sides of the fence LOL. are you going to incorporate any gauges?

Just fuel, I like the digital for everything else.

I'm like LA. I like both. Nice job on the 28'. I don't think I've seen one without a rubrail. Looks great. I can't keep my rubrail smooth due to waves at my dock during launching and loading on the lift. I could never keep paint on that but I looks awesome. |
I agree on the trim, the vessel view trim indicator is slow and somewhat hard to read so I am using a mechanical livorsi unit for that but the rest of the data is pretty clear. I will use the new vessel view 7 unit. My boat is lift stored and rarely on the dock so I think I'll be able to keep the paint nice but time will tell. I was talking to richy and when I told him I was going to replace the rub rail he suggested that I just get rid of it. It's not as user friendly without one but it looks pretty damn cool IMO. Thanks for all your comments in the boat, it should have the rest of the colour on today.

what I noticed about using the rpm on the VV (the one time I ran LOL) is that I focused on it more intently than I do with gauges...I guess because it's digital and I was trying to keep the rpms on both engines as close as possible, which I did a crappy job of that outing LOL.

Guys, We just finished my buddies boat with the vessel view 7. It is a nice unit but for a Skater set up I feel that it is not the right unit for boat. I have played with it a lot. For a pleasure boat it would be great but in comparison to what you all are describing and what I have on my boat get the Mercury Race View display. It has all the information you are looking for in screen configurations that make sense and easy to read. I run both the Livorsi mechanical indicators and compare them to the Mercury electric sensor readings I get on the raceviews and it is very accurate. You can calibrate the electrical sensors in the raceview displays.
It also has a max speed screen that records max speed, rpm, trim settings for the run. I love my displays and have two of them. Hopes this information helps. If any of you have any questions give me a call. It is an expensive display. Make sure you get what you want. |
