Agreed no different than factoring the cost & or time commitment required to get ones boat to & from the OEM (Skater or other).

I chose to have Skater do my ILMOR Indy drive upgrade for 2 reasons. 1) it had never been attempted before know one knows the boat like Skater does. 2) ILMOR is also located in Michigan so they worked thru the project together. The end result was not cheap but it was a 100% success!

For sure, I dropped the boat off right at 2 months ago, I'm picking it up on Friday. This also includes fresh paint for the trailer too, as well as fixing and replacing a few rusted spots on it. My hats off to Chris and his team, they have done an incredible job, I'm still floored by what they have done in a VERY short amount of time. This might also include fixing an uh oh going through a toll booth on the way up there. I'll be avoiding that Turnpike on the way back for sure.

Thats correct, we do the polycarbonate windshield and base for 12k ,the bustle extension is 10k have molds for both. The windshield, cockpit work and bustle tunnel extension and step complete from skater is 90-100k, we also do the pleasure canopy retrofit to flat deck.We did a complete retrofit on a classic 40, removed rub rail, glassed together, no seam, tunnel extension, flat deck retro on canopies, added wrap around windshield, bustle extension. Looks like a new boat, total custom skater

HiPerf360 04-28-2014 10:43 PM

Yes, Styled after a '67 427 hood

Tborisch 04-29-2014 12:04 PM

My Company, www.downscars.com, supplied the mold to boat customs for our 67 stingray big block hood, they pulled two parts, and customized them. Turned out sweet!

Sorry for the delay in sending pictures and updates, been busy on the river enjoying the poker run weekend, thank you for all of the complements. A HUGE thanks to Jim Lee for delivering the windshield last Sunday in his personal plane while all the tornados and storms tore up the Midwest. Service at its fullest and huge balls!! thank you again Jim.
Obviously a huge thank you to Chris Mills for killing this project, Beyond words Chris!. BTW, congratulations on that new baby girl! Just so everybody knows, him and his wife had their first child a week before the boat left the shop. I still don't know how he pulled it off!

At the end of the day I was looking for a nice update for this ol' girl, I didn't want a wider bigger boat because of the hassles of pulling the boat around and my dock at home is restricted on size and the half Million $$ I was short so I thought this might be a great way to get everything I wanted. But what I didn't know was that Chris had delivered a brand new boat to me and blew away every expectation I had for this project. For those thinking about this retrofit or just an updated paint job BOAT CUSTOMS certainly has the skills and talent to make it happen. Thanks again Chris Jimmy and Tom, let's go Boatin' !!!!

Tborisch 05-05-2014 02:36 PM

It's awesome Larry. Chris killed it for sure!

Boat looks awesome. You docked next to us in New Orleans. We were in the old fountain to your port. Great job!
