Hey for you guys with the 300xs's I had a problem this weekend with overtemp alarm. Temp on the gauges were good. If you do not know there is a temp sensor on the compressor. I ran through some shallow water and the sand I sucked up plugged up the pee tube. The water that cools the compressor runs thru the compressor and out through the hole. If it gets plugged the compressor will overheat. Luckily I keep a small pick in my took kit to clean it out. Problem solved. The sand went right through the strainer on the exhaust plate.

good run!! what size props?
got the 30 all ready to put in yesterday. Wife and I were going to run to our favorite watering hole visit with the owners then go anchor out in the lake for some R&R...after backing down the launch, cranking and idling the engines the port throttle would not move so hauled it back to the house to figure out what was wrong. figured it was frozen up cable but it had given me no signs of that before... ended up pulling the cowl off and found the linkage arm had come loos and jammed...was a quick fix but think it was a sign not to go out. pretty hefty storms kicked up on the lake so we just turned on the music and did the R&R at the house.

I had a plastic piece on the linkage the moves the throttle body break and allow the plate not to open. Engine idled great but that was it. Broke when I was running 95mph and the boat hooked to the left. Ended up replacing them both. My Mercury guy says they have seen them break.
LA need to get that thing in the water. Summer will be over soon!
