Motivation: Here are some pics of how the ocean gets in S. FL in the summer time. Ran 80 miles round trip. 2.22mph!

can the pisser be moved on the starboard to spray in so it can be seen like the port?

Double Rigged, I was on the stock limiters. New props are Dewald CNC units, 14.75 x 34.5's.

Moving the pisser is a great idea, I've no idea why it would be an issue. Next question is can they be opened up like all the older motors or is the motor expecting that restriction to keep water pressure in the motor or compressor. If we could open it up there would be much less chance of a blockage occurring. I'd like to just let it flow straight from the hose and not have the restriction at all if possible. I've had to clean that nozzle out more than once while underway, not fun.

On my old 24 back in the day we extended the tattle tale hose to the middle of the tie bar and left it wide open. You could easily visualize water flow from both motors at a glance. I'm not sure about the restriction but I bet it's a non issue.

NO you cannot open up the hole. Size was determined by Mercury to provide enough restriction on flow to cool the compressor at low RPM's. If you open it up it would work at fast speeds but overheat alarm at idle. I have confrimed that same idea with my guy at TNT. Already been tried according to Guy. I would think you could maybe change the orientation on the direction or remove and relocate it.
