If they come out Im getting a set. Screw it. Gotta hope the lowers hold up. Being my boat was built with the transom reinforced it will hold the weight. Even with the extension brackets. Gotta be faster even with 300 extra pounds. I hope anyway. Ha

Hate to rain on the new racing outboard parade but if you go to the x-cat sight and see the times/speed that the fazza boat ran the other boats with the 2,5's were much faster.
I also do not think if they were trying to convince other teams this is the way of the future they ran as hard as they could.
They have also been testing these motors for a long time and my guess the reason for the motors only making 300hp is that is what the lower unit could handle. Anymore was a broken gearcase.
I would plan for triples!!!!! Gary Balough is over there and I am sure we will have a full report upon his return.

Same here, Took boat out Monday and started the new year with a broken indicator cable and to end the day a float switch failure in the stbd motor oil tank!
Tank is fixed but Stainless Marine Closed for holiday!
