Sweet trick I saw on a cig trailer recently was an axle stub/spindle welded on. That allowed a spare wheel hub complete with bearings to hold the spare tire. If you loose a wheel bearing on the road your set.

So when are you Crystal River guys going to start building boats ? That's seems like it's the only thing left in your agenda :boat: Good stuff bud

Yes, I have been doing that for years, but where this tire is located, some one will eventually step from boat to tire, it would roll, and down they would go. It has already happened on one of my airboat trailers. No it was not me.:)

Thanks for the compliment, my old trailer was fine, I enjoy building things and started looking at race boat trailers in the Sarasota pits this year. That set the bug to build it.

Now if the last axle would arrive, I will transfer the boat over and mount the fenders. Going to build a deck over, blower motor airboat next.

When we converted my Cigarette from Konrads to Dry Sump Sixes, I learned that I don't like fiberglass work.

Now for the question you all have:
In round numbers......
I have 1k in axles
1k in brake controller, brakes, winch, and jack
1k in 5 wheel and tires
2 k in aluminum
500 in bunks and stainless bolts
300 in welding supplies
100 in lights
250 in fenders and step mounts
So 6 k in materials. I am now up to 110 hours in it.
Only the fenders left to mount.

Got the boat on it today, now to mount the fenders.

can you take a photo from the transom facing forward on either port/stbd side?

I'd like to see how the hull-sides clears the trailer wheel wells.
