Default Risky Business Skater 28

.

Anyone know what happened to S27 Risky Business? Did they have engine problems? Looks like they didn't start the last race.

it will take a few races I guess to work the gremlins out OR this could be an exhibition race like Mystic Envy?

This is one of the few flatdeck 28's that I would really like to own someday. What a beaut!

I talked to the guy that throttled it in kw. he told me he also did the rigging. from what I gathered the owner wants to get into racing. Yes the 200's were outmatched by the 2.5's along with only a 28'er but at least they ran...all I got to do was watch

is it easy to swap powerheads from 200HP to 280HP? or is it better to just swap the whole engine?

15" mids are soo bad ash!

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this a younger guy, and his father was into racing? Ran the original risky business?

They came to Key west a little under prepared. Wrong gear ratio and limited propellers. With the weather and water the was it was the decided to sit out the last day.

Yes, his father - Stephen Dorcich - bought the former Circus Circus 40' Skater w/ Arneson ASD8 drives and successfully campaigned the boat as "Risky Business" on the west coast in POPBRA sanctioned races during the '90s. He then sold it to the Travis' and they raced it on the west coast until OS racing disappeared out here about 5 years ago. It was a dominant boat back in the day!

No- they built the 40 boat brand new as Circus Circus then switched back to Risky Business.

Yes I helped John the throttle man do some things on it when it was here in town. Nick the owner really rushed it to make the race. No test time at all. John and I have lunch just about every week. They used to race a 24 back in the mid 80s. Then had 2 triple 32s and then built the 40 brand new. I've heard just about every story and detail there is.

They put the 200s on cause there was word that's where the class was going. An they didn't go out on Sunday for obvious reason, too rough and no need.
