Hey guys was gonna post this in another section but it is directly related to my build so Ill ask the question here. Im sure it will be found. I was fiddling around with the prop slip calculator and was wondering that since the sport master gearcase on the new 400R has a larger diameter than the 300xs sport master can I expect the same slip number potential or will the lower slip % be harder to obtain. The case is larger than the 300xs motor so it has to have more drag and it lets less of the prop be exposed to the water passing by. For example if 8% is good on the 300xs gearcase can you even get to that percentage with the larger 400R case. I know a lot of you are very knowlegable in this area and it would be great to know what to expect or am I chasing a low percentage that Ill never get. Thanx Steve.

Nobody will be able to answer your question Steve, as you're the first one with this new setup. There are so many factors that effect slip that there is no way of knowing where you'll end up. My 28 is actually down to 5-6% slip, and my 30 runs all the way down at 4% slip. But both my boats are light and dialed-in better than most. If you're willing to keep the boat light and spend the time it takes testing different setups and props, I think 8% slip (or better) is attainable. The first step is having thru-hull water pickups and keeping the build as light as possible. If you're just going to pick water up through the gearcases and put full size batteries, big stereo and a full interior in it, you're lowering your chances of attaining low slip #s - regardless of what propellers you run. There's no magic to any of this stuff, it just takes keeping the boat light and putting in the time and money to test, test and test!

Hey Guys, Confirmed that Boat gets paint this coming week. Not sure what day. They have to tape it off or whatever they call that process. Should be at least by Wednesday. Cant wait. Should be really cool to see painted finally.

Thanx Sam, Guess That ones mine right. Similar to what I have except side angles. Don't know why I can't get them on site. Wouldn't go from my girlfriends computer either. Kinda strange. Thanx again Steve.
