Thanx so much Speich, It came out nicer than I ever thought. I only saw pics till I went to Merc and saw it in person for the first time. I just stood there with a big stupid smile on my face for a long time ha. Pics don't come close at all to seeing it in person. The guys at Merc said they couldn't believe how big it looked compared to a standard width 30 footer. Once again the paint job came out unbelievable when you see it in person. Pics of most boats don't do them justice. Rugs not in it yet either. Cant wait to see that. Should finish it off perfect. The Electronics that we were able to do didn't exist a while back so that portion of the rigging which gives it a nice clean look wasn't even a possibility a few years back. Whatever anybody suggested I kinda did without much thought to expense because I was already way in and I didn't anticipate selling her and upgrading so to speak. It was an entry level thing for me but I really didn't spare to much. I don't know what else there was I could have done except put a third 400 on. Ha. Had to add that cause I know someone else would have. I met so many great people during this process and made some life long friends also. Some I have not had the pleasure to meet face to face yet but I'm sure that will work itself out. There were people that kept telling me to enjoy the build. Don't rush it. In the end thats what happened. They were right. Even though the finish date kept getting pushed it all worked out for the best. My Boat is finished with all the bugs worked out and Its going to Miami in Feb for all to see and Speed on the Water is writing a cover article on it. It'll be at my place in Feb. Done. Who could ask for anything more. All you guys are the best, Thanx again. Nastybug/Stephen Lane.

Definitely worth the wait!!! It really turned out nice Steve. I look forward to hearing of your impressions as your learning how to run it. I have had mine for 7 years and is a part of me when I run it. I realized thru a friend years ago you don't need gauges and indicators for you develop a feel for the hull. Shes' a beaut Clark!:)

That is an awesome boat. I have been following this thread for some time.

So seeing the tilt trailer(awesome btw) raises a question or two. Well actually I have wondered this before but this is an opportune time to ask. Are there any special provisions made to the boat to allow it to be tilted at such an angle for an extended amount of time? Are there engine oil implications? Fuel tank? Heck even cabin door implications(not that that applies here).

Again Beautiful boat and cant wait to hear how the new hull works out.

John

Hey John, That tilt wasn't mine but in order to transport the boat on it they had to put a fuel cut off switch for the overflow on the one side so the gas wouldn't leak out. Not sure where they put it. Would seem it would be on the lower side of the boat when its tilted on its side.

Hey Guys, Found out the other day that the sales tax on boats registered after Feb 1st in NJ gets cut from 7% to 3.5%. Thats awesome. So glad I didn't get it delivered to me in the late fall to use for 2 weeks. Things happened for a reason for sure. Got a excellent dial in at Merc Racing. Got some bugs worked out there also that could have haunted me for years. Saved on storage for the Winter. Boat gets to be seen at Miami Boat show. Cover shot in Speed on the Water Year in Review. Now Tax registration cut in half. Saves me somewhere around 10Gs. Awesome.
