Impressions are mission accomplished. We ran hard at GLOC and LOTO and handling was much improved. The boat runs level launches and lands much better. Visibility is great from any seat. Only thing I may do is change power to 400R's now.
BTW I'm one of those everything is always for sale guys and looking for the next project.

Hey Sam, Have you gotten any more numbers on your boat now that the weather is cooling down abit. Would love to see what your rig would do with the 400R motors. Would have to fly. My boat was 5500 lbs dry. Yours has gotta be below 5000 pretty far i would think. I think they'll get 112 or 13 from Mercury when all is said and done. Gotta put you over 115 somewhere easy.
Your boat turned out great. I would love to go up one day when the Mercury gang is dial on it in. The acceleration has to be phenomenal.

Before you repower to 400s, contact Joe at DBR and see what they could do for you with your XS powerheads. They might have something available to you soon that would get you the speed you're after without completely re-rigging your boat. You just got it all back together Sam! Those are great pics of you running btw.

If they had a little bit more mid range punch and 5mph on topend they would be perfect. Still torn between staying with these modifying them, finding some 300X's or jumping up to 400Rs. Bottom line is it's still a heck of a lot of fun and very low maintence and fuel consumption as is.

I spoke with Joe earlier this summer. Still waiting on Dave to dial things in. Supposedly he is distracted on another project right now. I really love these XS's and the fuel economy. I ran the entire Lake Cumberland poker run all 9 stops on 80 gallons on fuel. I also ran hard the entire run.

The new Water ramps are the bomb. Water pressure issues are no more. 102 best and 98.7 consistently 80* mild humidity glass smooth water 420' above sea level Mercury 4B 32" cleavers with minor issues.
Totally Stock motors.
I have not measured the engine height but I was able to lift in higher settings without loosing water pressure.

Interesting number according to Smartcrart I have logged 577 miles with 284 gallons of fuel. For an overall season average of 2.0 MPG total burn rate.

102 best before build and 98.5 consistent speed. 97.5 after build with previous ramps flat deck and windshield. With the new ramps I was able to lift motors on the fly. Also I can use my cleaves again without loosing water pressure.
Hitting 98.5 consistently and bumped to 102 today.
More dialing in to do.

I would love to fly up the next time you test your 318. I'm still seriously considering upgrading power to 400Rs depending on your results. Thanks for sharing your build and data!
