how much was actually cut off forward and aft? just curious on the max measurement. looks like not much at the cockpit and rear hatch area but of course much more forward to the tip of the sponsons. the lines of the boat will be much sexier both sitting and hauling azz IMO !!!

Well you can call the boat "Big Sexy" but you better not go ther with me

The sides in the cockpit area were built up 5-6 " and rear 4-5. The cut down at sponsons was 8-10". Sorry but I don't have the exact measurements. I used the new cut down measurement of the rear seat to set that bulkhead and desired height of the windshield for the bulkhead at the dash. Then cut sponsons to match existing cut downs. Jim Sykes was kind enough to send us his cutdown measurements to confirm we were close.

The good news is Chris saved the cut down template on his computer so he is ready for yours next year

Default Bulkhead cut down on deck

We are placing a very slight camber in the deck which breaks in a straight line from the inside of the sponson to the windshield and angles down to the sides.

Bulkhead cut down and angle cut for deck to the break line

Camber sanded into top of deck break

Really Like what your are achieving! I guess a 308 is so deep at the sponsons that cutting it down 8 to 10 inches does not present a concern with stuffing the nose? Some day I would like to know what the changes cost compared to what Skater wanted to do my 28 in a flat deck/wide body. Bring that cool boat to Tenkiller this spring or summer for an "Outboard Skater Fest"! I am still trying to set that up for the "bros."

thanks sam. you the man...I won't call you "big sexy" trust me, I DON'T GO THAT WAY!!!! LOL.
I was ready for the flat deck and wrap around windshield as soon as I got to see pics of Jim's 28. unfortunately my disposable income was not. LOL.

taboma, the 308 dwarfs the 28. I was told that before I got mine, I was amazed at the size difference! wish my 28 was on the same height trailer. I'd take a pic so you could see but the 28 trailer sits quite a bit lower then the 308 trailer does.

I've seen a big Skater stuff so I don't ever lose respect for that aspect of being cautious. That being said I could not agree with LA anymore that the 30 dwarfs the 28 in size and ride. We just don't hit anything big anymore on the local lakes. LOTO is a different story but the boat was awesome in that crap!

Tom your 24 would be fine on Tenkiller. Last time I was there was after dental school graduation in an 18'er I built with a 200 Black Max and The Talking Heads blaring on the stereo. From what I remember there is a really big cliff to jump off of and the water was fine.

http://youtu.be/8Doi8JXw-hU Tom, Attached is a video from last summer on Tenkiller. These are not unusual conditions for our lake. It is known for its clear flat water. The lake is about 30 miles long with most being less than 1 mile wide, at most, and surrounded by the Cookson Hills (our mountains) which block most of the wind. There are not a lot of large boats to make big wakes. I had a 21 Cougar and had no problems as well as my tournament ski boay does just fine . I would love to facilitate Skater get together. David
