Hey guys a while back Skater built a 30 foot outboard with twin merc 300xs. It is mostly white with red and blue stripes. Read a bit about how it ran in the mid range but nothing else after that. I was curious to know if anyone heard about any top end numbers it ran. They were running it with BBlades Blasters and am curious to hear how it did up top with those props. I think it was built for a guy named Jimmy Kimmel. Thanx Steve.

I hope Matt chimes in as he usually has the data for the post-release performance numbers:

Steve, You are correct. Boat was at Miami Boat Show this year. Met Jimmie, Great guy. Actually spoke to him a few days ago. He has just had a chance to start testing the boat. I had told him to join OSO. He may chime in. I can tell thus far boat has run its best with Dewalds. They are still testing.

I just spoke to Rob Loeffler about this boat last week - he said they've got 110 out of it after he gave them setup advice. It certainly wouldn't be running 80 @ 4,200rpm though. X motors run smaller pitch props than XS motors do - and 4,200rpm only gives my 28 70mph w/ 35 pitch Dewalds.

Hey Dale, Are you sure we're talking about the same boat. Its a 30 footer with 300xs twins. It ran 110mph or was that a typo and you meant 101. Or maybe I can't see it right as I just got contacts for distance 30 minutes ago and my short vision sucks now. Ha. Can barely see what I'm typing and computer is out 3 ft from my face. It was that new 30 foot classic deck mostly white with blue and red stripes. Started with 31 inch blasters. Thanx Steve

Dale,
Rob was probably talking about Jimmy John's 30 with 300x motors. That was the boat he helped with the set up on. He sent me pics of the gear case mods that were done from Wilson and designed by Todd D and his gang on S&F. The 30 that was at the show had 300xs's on it and belongs to Jimmy Kimmel. I spoke to him at length the other day and his boat has run 100mph, 2 people at 200lbs each and over 110gallons of fuel with 32" Dewalds at 5800 or so. The Dewalds were the best props thus far. He has not run the boat light and it only has about 6hrs on it or so. Jimmy Johns 30' flat deck struggled to run 103 in the beginning. Peter was actually the one that JJ guy call Rob.
