the warranty issue discussed in other threads was that the owner/Grant's had Wilson Blueprint the gearcases.....

Have not heard any issues with the bottom. The skeg of the outboard is where the blueprinting was done. Was told it runs great!!

I just stated wilson blue printing the cases as a general reference to the work that was performed. The skegs were profiled and I would assume if there was room to improve the profile of the bullet down into the skeg it would have been dones as well (in keeing with the i/o gearcase work they do). If the work was limited tot he skeg - my applogies for the miss comm.

that's a large boat to run those speeds with 400r's. they did go from trip 300x and if I remember about the same performance???..not sure what orthobam's cruise and top end # requirements are but that's not too shabby a platform.

If I recall there was a lot of discussion about it supposedly running the same speed with trip X's as it did with the 400's and I believe it was Joe from DBR that cleared the air and said it ran significantly fast with the trip X's but wasn't as user friendly. I know I've seen 115 on my trip X 32A and it was still pulling pretty hard but I had to back down due to running out of room so they will definitely do better with trips, like anyone would reasonably think otherwise... I know that's a B hull that was widened etc but still, if speed is important trip X probably can't be beat but if easy running and maintenance is the priority the twin 400's would be hard to beat, I've got to admit I've considered it myself.
