I am pretty well aware of the sickness for speed after riding in both of Dale's Skaters over the last couple of years. It's completely his fault we HAD to buy a Skater. I'm truly not the guy to chase every last mph. I am the guy who does all of his preventative maintenance on time and drives the boat a LOT. My wife and I took our 25 Daytona from the Mississippi River the entire 1000+ miles up the Ohio River to Pittsburgh, PA this past summer. We love being on the water as much as possible.

I would like to hear about that trip. You should start a thread with photos of it!

We've run our awesome new ride a few times and my wife absolutely LOVES it. The acceleration is plenty strong for us and the cruise speed 70-75mph is perfect. We didn't have a lot of water to stretch it out but saw 98.3mph with 3 adults the other day. Haven't had a chance to run it in any big water but it destroys 3' cruiser wakes.
Pete, hope you can find a 28 or 30 so we can run together with Nice Pair and behind Dale once his is done.

I finally had a free day to get out in Rob's 30 today (it's been down at my dock for a month already, and this was my first time out in it) - what a nice rig! Running the boat just as he bought it - 14 5/8" x 31" four blade cleaver thru-hub props (don't know what make), spinning in, with 1.62 gears, the boat has a mild porpoise from 54-68mph, great cruise of 83mph @ 5,000rpm and a respectable top end of 98mph. We could surely get more top end out of it with some taller pitch props, and I know these rigs love 3 blade cleavers or Dewalds for best top speeds, but these props seem like a great setup for the combination of delta/bay/ocean running that Rob plans to do with the boat. Thanks again for the boat ride today Rob!

Nice to see that 30 being used. I hope that you outboard guys will let me run with you this spring! Looking forward to it. Beautiful Skater. Doug
