Default Another Skater 30/400R Conversion

My buddy is down at Havasu and saw this 30 pulling out as he was at the ramp. They just swapped out 300XSs for 400Rs and ran 119 off the trailer. That's a pretty impressive #, especially considering it's 100+ degrees in Havasu right now - and Havasu is at 735' elevation. This boat might get to 125 in ideal conditions.

Really good looking boat. I remember seeing that boat at the Miami boat show years ago I think? Is it a standard tunnel width?

It's one of the first widened pleasure 30s. The props are Mercury 5 blades. The same shop (Fallon Marine) did this re-rig that did my buddy's Nordic 28SS that has run 126. They do a good job of setting the boats up correctly. For those of you not wanting to pay $10k for a set of Mercury 5 blades, Dave will have his over hub 5 blades available soon - for about half the price of Mercurys, I'm pretty sure........

Nice numbers. Are these motors being "turned up?"

I got the lowdown on this re-rig today. The owner (last name Timken) had the XSs swapped out for 400s about 6 months ago - this 119 # is real, but it took some months of testing to get there. The boat only ran 97/98 with the XSs on Lake Havasu, so I'm guessing the owner is super happy with the net gain of over 20mph. To my knowledge, the motors are completely stock. Imo, it just proves what I've been thinking over the past 6 months or so - these later model 400Rs are putting out more power than the earlier models.

Now they just need to add some acceleration in the tune and life will be good! Maybe even I will get some.
