Need Help From My Skater Brothers ** Calling For Fuel Tank Experts**
#26
I skipped to the end so this may have been answered. I did the research on building fiberglass tanks a few years ago. To my knowledge there are no resins that ethanol will not break down over time. If you always run Rec90 you wouldn't have an issue. You could scuff the inside of the tank and epoxy coat them. If you decide to do this make sure you thicken the epoxy with cabisol otherwise it will just run down and puddle on the bottom. If you have access why not open the top up and install new aluminum tanks?

I sure hope that glass work isn’t factory skater..... very thin laminate right there. Crap foam work. (Not casting judgement) also, grab a sharp pocket knife. Poke around with it. If the gas has been eating into the resin , the knife will soak into the laminate. If the tanks have been done and used the updated resin, they should be hard. Meaning they are not breaking down. Gas soaked epoxy resin will soak a knife point into it pretty good. Solid epoxy will be super hard won’t absortb any poke. Hope this helps. Give me shout if you have any questions !
Are you getting any print through in the hull?
