Default Skater would benefit from lighter engines / Engines would benefit from bigger Skater

While there are 28s with Verados, the hull was launched just when the 2.5 EFI was replacing the 2.4 EFI.

Very few were rigged with Verados from the factory. Buyers got clear advice to buy a bigger boat or choose 300XS.

Have you considered selling the Verados and getting a pair of 250XS, 300XS or 300R?

Alternatively, sell the 28 and get a 32A, 32B 308 or 318 to put the Verados on. In that case you will want to squeeze some more power from the engines after the first season, but my understanding is that that is easy.

If you are not willing to go there, move weight forward, e.g. batteries in front of the cockpit, and minimize setback.

Warren Duke has a pair of 450Rs on his 28 to stay true to his Red Rocket moniker. But it is an unusual way to rig and use a 28…

I have a friend that just bought a 28’ w/300 Verados.

He is putting 420 hp tunes in them but don’t think he has yet.

He sent a video of it running and it was solid!

Ill ask his permission to forward you his contact info if interested.

Hes a good dude.

Knows those motors well too.

Has a shop in the Tampa area.

It takes some set up to get a handle on the hop.
