What's The Word On Sonic?
 

Was told there was a meeting last Friday afternoon at Sonic about changes. Seems First Derivative is waiting on Richard Hewitt to do something. I have left countless messages with Tony at First Derivative to call me. But apparently he's ignoring my calls. There's a check that's been sitting in accounts payable with my name on it that he said not to release it or any other money to anybody until he says so. Guess while these two argue the customers will have to suffer. Also I see two ex Sonic employees that were posting here were removed from the site. I just don't understand these guys at all. I wish somebody with some business sense would take over the company. Tony if for some reason your not getting my phone and voice messages please call me ASAP.
Anyway I guess i will start selling off the props and spacers Sonic told me not to. Try to recoup some of my money.

I'd like to know as well. If they want a professional customer service department, give me a call! I'll be on the next flight! I'd love to turn that aspect of the company around, it would be a challenge and a dream job!!!

I think we all want SONIC to be an icon in the boating industry. They have a firm market position base to build on, with the right people there is a lot that can be done!

we just got back from stuart my 358 is where phil steve and tony said.im happy; the boat was supposed to be complete by the 15th of may it's looking more to the end due to the extensive paint job we picked.but well worth the wait.RV your boat is looking good the baltic is in and your deck is out of the mold and your liner is in the mold and on marshalls boat im not sure there was one on the floor comming out of the mold.
. as nj sonic stated things are going like wild fire and we will see some big changes in the next month.there will be a pr person to work on the issues that have been going on for the past year.

all i can say way to go sonic

Thanks for the update. You indicated the Baltic was in the hull, did you see the stringers in there? It is great to talk with someone that I can get a confirmed update on the progress.

I've been trying for several weeks to get 3-4 items and can't seem to make things happen. They take my info each time, but never get back! Anyone have a contact name that might be able to get something done? Parts persons?

I called Sonic and Mindy at Doller Offshore yesterday about ordering a part. Mindy was very helpful but it is very difficult to get anyone at Sonic to call me back. Richard had given both Mindy and Sonic notice to get out of the building, so they are both getting packed and Sonic is going to the factory in Stuart. Mindy doesn't have a location yet.

Correct, we are looking to buy a building (for Doller Offshore!) ......the concept (Super Center) was great here, unfortunately Doller Offshore got caught between 2 feuding partners, we will move on. Enough said!
Sonic will continue in Stuart full speed ahead!

We will be here in the "Sonic" building until August first, then just 1 block south on the same street, other side! Same phone #'s etc. We will update as the move date gets closer...You will see us from 1-95...
Remember, Doller Offshore will always continue to be your "one stop shop" for all of your boating needs!

Heard a very nasty "rumor" a few days ago that Sonic is officially done & no more. Was supposed to be the latest update, even with all that has been posted previously in this thread and elsewhere.

Say it aint so !

Don't like rumors, speculation or to contribute to such, this is why I'm asking. Overheard this when a few others were talking about Sonic recently. Same ole same ole, or is this new ?

First Dirr was said to have the molds & will do all warranty work, but not produce any more new Sonics.

Any truth to this ? Anyone heard anything new ?

This would be a great loss to the boating world & all Sonic owners and want to be owners of one of the finest boats ever produced. :(

sonic still there and will be for a long time they have moved to their new location in stuart.they are manufacturing sonics as i write one is mine 358 which will be ready in two weeks or so.they are under name FIRST DERIVATIVE.their phone#772-219-2110.for your in formation they also make DAKOTA and SEA STRIKE.yes they are in bussiness.

Capt . My name is phillip I have a 31 on order since august of last year. I also have had a hard time reaching anyone including Tony. they have 55K of my moneys and my 65k trade. My boat is now going on a year late and they say it is because of motors. I contacted mercury and was told that 525Its were available. My laywer has served pappers but they seem to drag it out to the very end before they respond! If anyone has any insight i would appreciate it I have spoken to a gentleman in NY who orderd a 38 with 1075s before my mine who has seen nothing or heard nothing. thanks

if i were you take a trip to stuart.ive been down ther at least once a month since december.our boat which is a 358 is gong into paint this week.the only way you really know where you stand is take a trip to the factory.you have already spent a lot so spend a little more and fly down there.
