400 Rpm Increase
#1
Made some minor modifications over the winter on some 500EFI'S in a 2001 358 and picked up at lst test 400 RPM'S.
Hope to get out this weekend and do a little more dialing in and testing. With a change to a set of modified Brodix Heads and a recurved fuel managment and increase in REV Limiter these were my only modification. Everything else left alone.

;Hey Roger,
Only time I had the boat out was too test to see if everything was ok and then get a plug reading. At that time I had a set of 30 lab's on and the boat pulled the same RPM'S as last year with 28's. That where I got my RPM increase from. I hope to get out more this weekend with both sets and get a better base line.
Rick, would have to check with my guy that did the modifications to find out where he had the ECU re mapped.
The plugs looked like they were running a little rich, might be because of last years gas 87-89 octane and the knock sensor was kicking in or just a heat range in plug, With compression increase to 9.5 going to run 92-93 octane.

Had a chance to test some on Sunday and picked up alittle more. Now doing 5400 RPMS with Lab 30's. Still have old style speedo no GPS YET.
Last year before modifications best I saw was 5200 RPMS with Labbed 28. I THINK I HAVE ACCOMPLISHED WHAT I WANTED TOO DO. Pick up my cruise and top end without SCREWING UP the overall characteristics of the stock EFI.
Still going to upgrade a few more things that will bolt on and maybe I will see a little more but for right now I happy. NOT TOO BAD 80MPH BOAT WITH A HEAD AND STAND UP SHOWER.

I'm not going to be able to make the run this year - kids have a recital that Saturday. We will be up there for the 4th though. I got a chance to run the new props at this weekends Queens Race and really like them. I like the mid-range with them and the amount of tab needed now is next to nothing. I ran with 0 tab most of the time whereas before I was always at least into the 4-5 range with the standard 4 blade Bravo I's. I need to talk with Throttle Up to see if they can tweek them for me to pull out a few more rpm but other than that they were great.
