Sonic 31ss is a much bigger and more capable boat. Headroom and everything else is vasty improved over the 26.
I am 6'3" and could only sit in one spot in the 26, many more spots in the 31SS. Was going to buy a new 26, was glad I went for a used 30SS instead.

31 is actually 30' 6". Depending on what waters your running, the 31 will run a lot smoother due to length and weight. Cockpits are basically the same, the cabin is where you will find the extra room if you plan on doing any overnighting. 31 has a slideout in the cabin to convert the sofas into a huge sleeping area. Both are great boats!!!
I'm tall also, would love the 358, but budget and towing kept me in a 31ss which as stated above gives me just a little more headroom to move around more comfortably in the cabin than the 26. You can't go wrong with either boat.
Post what your going to be looking for, you'll be able to get some good leads here.....
Good luck!!!

The 31 rides a 100% better than the 26 IMHO. 26's tend to porpoise for some reason, the 31's do not exhibit the same tendancy in my experience.
If you have the choice & abilty to get a 31, go for the 31. You'll be much happier all around. Also I beleive the 31 has a pump out head where as the 26 has a porta a potti.

With exception of AC, I believe you can the get the same options on both boats.... porta pottie is standard on 31 as well, after a certain year, late 90's I believe, even with the porta potti, they put the waste tank in place, but was not usable, just in case owner would want to retrofit an electric head later....

Tony, Enough all ready with the questions, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO PULL THE TRIGGER And Buy A BOAT????
I think the extra difference in length is maybe 1 1/2' of additional space between the rear bench and the bolsters with the rest of the space going to the cabin. There is a floor to ceiling cabinet as you enter the cabin on your left, then the same sink/base cabinet as your 26' followed by 2 sofas with the pull-out filler cushion. I think the sofas are about 5' long. The head is identicle to ours in the 26. The batteries are mounted under the rear bench which robs storage space, but there isn't any room in the engine room due to the twins! I also prefer the looks of the flush deck hatch on the 26 & 35 and larger over the protruding ones on the 31, but thats about all I can complain about! Steve
