I have an 05 358 and switched from Bravo 1's to Hydromotive P- 5X 5 blades and it really made a positive difference in handling, speed, and porposing. I also put on 28" long tabs as compared to the factory 23"long. The 358 does not like drive trim without a little tab until around 4000 RPM's. I normally put the tabs down about 1 notch and trim the drives to neutral for crusing and any porposing problems go a way. After 4000 RPM's I pull the tabs all the way up and trim the drives to the max for top speed.

Cool Re: Do All Sonic 35's Porpoise?

Well, unfortunately, I couldn't come to terms with this guy. We ended up about $10k apart and couldn't close the gap.

A local marina here heard I was looking to trade out of my motoryacht and into a performance boat and called me - he is taking on the Eliminator line.

Totally different boat than the sonic. Sonic = 77 MPH, 6' of head room in a cabin, can run in rough waters - 2003 no warranties.

Eliminator - no cabin, no creature comforts at all, but brand new, 101 mph, full warranties.

I figured, eh, why not? I know it's going to be totally different and handle quite a bit differently than a deep vee....but, there is something intriguing about going 101 mph on the water. I'm sure I'll probably be looking for something different after 1 or 2 seasons - but I put my deposit down yesterday.

This is going to be interesting - it's going to be like going from a mini-van (carver) to a Viper.

Best to check your insurance policy on the cat vs a deep V before you give the final payment OK on the boat. If you can get any insurance, and are happy with the price, good luck with the new boat!
