Not for the sake of arguing, Carrboy, but you are saying that your boat w/ 525SC's(actually 490+ prop-shaft according to Merc Racing) VS. HO's @ 425 prop-shaft was 17 -18 mph faster??? Man , I wish I could get I could find that speed in 135 hp. Most of the later 496HO 31's came with a 26", and would spin a labbed 28 B1 after break-in time and run 74 - 77 with a little chop under the hull(speedo showing you 80).

Well,we already had a couple replies that were within 1-2 miles per hour of what I stated...as far as mine the boost is at 7.5#'s and stock is less than 5#'s...they say 40hp per # of boost...do the math...if they will spin a 28p then 77 is the number and my boat is only 10 -12 mph faster...everyone I know is spinning 26p...I'm spinning 32's,so again, easy math.

I'm too chicken to see what ours will do. I would be interested to hear any thoughts? Prior owner said 102 with labbed props but everyone tells tall tails when trying to sell their boat... 85 gets scarey and all you can hear is the blowers you can't hear or see. I don't know how some people have the balls to do it...

I hear ya about the tell tale part and the scary part...everyone adds 5-10 mph to the speed ...my 386 has yet to see over 85 and the previous owner told me 92...I knew better when I seen the 30p props and I know the rpm's of the 500's...as far as getting scary over 85 in a 31,OH YEAH!!!...if that will run 102 video it,I'm not getting in there ...are those 575's stock? What props are on it?Either way, that engine compartment looks great!!!Mike

Thanks. Blue is always pretty. It has stock 575SCI's with the superchillers added. Bravo I 32P props. Did get it up to 92 (with a little more throttle left) on Torch Lake ONCE last year and you could actually see the fuel gauge dropping. THAT HURTS
