Default 31 Sonic Performance

Well, believe my Baja is sold (will know for sure this week), and still on the Sonic kick! I want the 31ss and have one picked out with 502's. Anyway, I have ridden in my little 25 Baja Outlaw and got slammed, I rode in a 35 Fountain and really liked the ride but not really the cabin room, rode in a mide 90's model 32 Baja which was a little more rounded hull and got beat up at times. I have nobody close to me with a Sonic so I have to travel. I have to do all of my financing in advance and really wanted to know more about the ride of this boat. Anything would be great! Can u change the plugs without pulling a motor?

Yes you can change plugs without pulling a motor. You can do almost anything without pulling them. It's tight and you may lose some skin, but it grows back. The rough water ride out classes anything in its size class and so does the cabin space. 502's probably will do 72 ish on gps. It'll still do 70+ in 6 footers. You won't be sorry. I had a 212 islander and a 272, they really don't compare in ride or build quality. I was always having to tighten something.

As far as the bumpy stuff goes, I was in a poker run last year and a much faster Baja (26-28')was behind me in the bumps (2-4ft).
I pulled away easily, every time I looked back that thing was all out of shape, bow high, slamming down on it's side etc., as soon as it got smooth he blew by me. I would rather give up a few mph to be able to run my boat hard offshore comfortably, than have a fast lake boat that kicks your a** offshore. NO flame intended to Bajas, just stating my experience
PS we also weekend on it regularly. Me ,wife and 7 yo daughter

I have been on a 29 Envision recently also and the hull was different, real nice boat but it seemed to plow water more as the hull looked different compared to the Sonic and MUCH different than a Fountain. Top speed is really not my game and I do not really stay overnight but being able to trailer easily every weekend 3 1/2 hrs and something the wife and I can handle easily is real important too.
